Matt Yancik has been playing tabletop roleplaying games for nearly forty years. 

He is known for highly cinematic, narrative-driven games with equal doses of intrigue, action, and humor. His favorite systems are DM Scotty McFarland’s EZD6 (which he playtested and helped edit) and Monte Cook’s Cypher System (which he had absolutely nothing to do with...)

Matt is currently working with Joey Lee Cabral and Matt Click on Bone & Mettle, a new setting for the EZD6 System. A mashup of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai and Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal, Bone & Mettle is set in the feudal-era Animal Kingdom of Nekkon and features all-new species and monsters, Elemental and Mystical Paths, expanded Inclinations, and the Honor Code—mechanics that affect reputation and influence within the setting.

Formerly in the film industry, Matt now lives and works in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he teaches English.
